What Shipping Teams Are Saying

★★★★★

Before MetaShip, creating a UPS shipment meant opening UPS.com, re-entering all the package data, copying the tracking number, and pasting it back into Business Central. Now it’s one click and the tracking number is already there. I can’t overstate how much time this saves across 80 shipments a week.

The consolidated label feature alone was worth the switch. We ship 5–12 packages per order and used to print labels one at a time from FedEx Ship Manager. Now they’re all attached in Business Central and we download one PDF. Our warehouse team loves it.

★★★★★

Our billing team used to reconcile shipping charges between the carrier portal and Business Central every month end. Now the charge is added automatically when the API shipment is created. The numbers match on day one, every time.

An API Shipment communicates directly with the carrier. MetaShip Shipping API help sending package, add address details, shipment data and receive a tracking number and generating shipping labels automatically inside the Business Central. On the other hand, Manual Shipment is used when the shipment is created outside the API workflow, allowing users to record carrier, service method and tracking information manually. Even existing API shipments can also be converted to manual when shipping requirements changes.

When an API Shipment is created, label data is returned by the carrier and automatically stored as PDF attachments on the Packing record. Individual labels are available for each package, while the MetaShip Consolidated Label combines all package labels into one PDF making it easier for printing and handling of multi-package shipments.

Yes, enable the Third-Party Shipping option on the shipping API screen and enter the required billing details- including billing type, account number, country code and postal code. MetaShip passes this information directly to the Carrier API, allowing freight charges to be billed to the specified customer, vendor or third-party account.

Yes, in MetaShip, additional option is available- allowing shipments to be scheduled for up to 10 days in advance.

Posting the packing record finalizes and locks all package and shipment information – creating a complete audit trail. Once posted, the Sales Order is ready for invoicing, with shipping charges and tracking information already added to the order for a streamlined billing process.
